Mainul Islam, proprietor of Hakikat Nursery in Agargaon, told The Business Standard, "Business is going great at this point. Trees worth Tk25,000-35,000 are being sold day to day."

SM Shah Alam, an occupant of Bailey Street, was purchasing trees before a nursery in the Curzon Lobby region. He said he purchased crossover lemon, guava, Chinese orange, gooseberry, and watermelon trees.

"I live in an administration house. I have cultivated before the structure and on the rooftop. I will establish these trees there. I go to the tree fair consistently. Since it didn't occur this time, I came to the nursery myself," said Shah Alam.

An extended Public Tree Fair has been held in Dhaka in June consistently for over 10 years. Around one crore saplings and trees worth Tk30-35 crore are sold at this fair consistently. In any case, this year the fair didn't occur because of the pandemic which is an extraordinary monetary misfortune for the nursery proprietors.

In the mean time, nursery merchants said tree deals have expanded by 20% during the pandemic contrasted with similar time of the earlier year as individuals have been more keen on greening their homes than previously.

Nazrul Kabir, general secretary of Bangladesh Nursery Proprietors Affiliation, said, "We have not gotten any assistance from the public authority or any other person during the pandemic.
